Argentina - January 2003

I went to Argentina to visit Natalia, my Internet friend of nearly three years. Almost nothing went quite as I'd imagined it would, which was good in some cases but less so in others. Overall, I'm glad I went. I spent most of the two weeks in Buenos Aires, although we got away to the beach for a long weekend.

Natalia and her family did a wonderful job of looking after me - everything from guided tours, to meals, to recommending a good bank to cash my travellers' cheques. I can't thank them enough.

I didn't see anything like all of Argentina, but everything I saw, I loved. Buenos Aires is an amazing city - and its subway system puts London's to shame.

I know I have to go back to Argentina at some point. There is so much more to it that I never had time to do. Next time, I think I'd like to see Patagonia.
